How to register

This is an overview of the steps required to become an Electronic Conveyancing (EC) Subscriber. To find out if you are eligible to Subscribe to EC, please see Fact Sheet - Becoming a Subscriber.

Please ensure you read and understand the EC System Rules and the Registrar's Requirements prior to proceeding with your EC subscription.

Step 01 - Review requirements

Ensure that you have read the EC System Rules and the Registrar's Requirements, and that you meet all of the requirements listed on the Registration checklist.

Step 02 - Book an appointment

Call (03) 8636 2586 and have your ABN ready in order to book an EC subscription appointment.

Step 03 - EC subscription appointment

A representative from EC will meet with you to witness the execution of the EC Subscriber Application Form and collect any supporting documentation.

Step 04 - EC account processed

Once your EC application is processed, a representative from EC will contact your Subscriber Administrator by telephone to provide their EC User ID and password.

Step 05 - Install digital signature certificate(s)


VeriSign will contact you to install your digital signature certificate(s).

Step 06 - Complete Training


The EC Training staff will contact you to arrange a date/time for training that is convenient for you.

Step 07 - Start using EC

Once you have your digital signature certificate(s) and have completed your training, you are ready to begin processing online settlements and lodgements.
